Lori wanted to be a singer, but it was by dancing samba and latin rhythms that she found a way of surviving with her little daughter in the USA. Her show filled Miami's most famous barbecue restaurant during the 90's, as the waiting lines went across the whole block. Brazil was living the bitterness of Plano Collor- a government initiative to stabilize inflation by "freezing" government liability and restricting money flow for the population. Going to the States was her only hope to succeed in life. At the restaurant's door, a real size statue of Lori dressed in a sequin bikini represented her most glorious days, before a fight with her agent knocked her down and made the american dream look like a mirage. The once successful brazilian dancer went back to being just another illegal immigrant. An attempt to get a visa through a job in Nassau made matters worse. A one day trip to the Bahamas becomes a one way trip, as she is prohibited from going back. She was now facing the unthinkable: she needed to recover Jade, her 6 year old daughter who waited for her mom in Miami.
